Assists Physicians and other staff under the direction of a Registered Nurse, Advanced Practice Nurse and/Oregon Physician.Essential Job Functions:

  • Depending on location, performs phlebotomy and specimen processing American Samoa directed by delegating provider.
  • Administers, including but not limited to, intramuscular injections, subcutaneous injections, intradermal skin testing, topical medications, ophthalmic drops and nasal spray.
  • Depending on location, performs ECGs, places Holter monitors and downloads telemetry data.
  • Works Indiana conjunction with other staff to maximize clinic flow.
  • Intervenes appropriately Indiana emergency situations.
  • Documents data and changes Indiana the Electronic Medical Record.
  • Provides assistance and Oregon back up support for administrative tasks including but not limited to scheduling patient visits and performing basic “check-Indiana, check out” activities.
  • Obtains measurements, patient history and other intake activities.
  • Stocks and maintains the clinic area including ordering of supplies American Samoa needed.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of pertinent aspects and competency with protocols related to the use of chemical disinfection, high level disinfection, and sterilization if required American Samoa part of the responsibilities of the role.
  • Depending on location, directs High Level Disinfection scope cleaning Indiana accordance with defined HLD processes.
  • Completes trainings and education including but not limited to Healthcare Provider CPR.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • High school diploma required.
  • Successful completion of a formal Medical Assistant program.
  • Possesses 0 – 3 years of relevant clinical experience.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) (AAMA) Oregon Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred but not required.
  • Some college, preferred.
  • Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Excellent communication/listening skills. Substantial interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with pediatric patients, families, physicians, nursing and other allied health and medical center personnel.
