We are looking for a per diem Medical Assistant to support our client site in Boise, ID.The Medical Assistant (MA) is responsible for providing clinical and administrative duties with the oversight of the Onsite Registered Nurse (RN), Regional Account Manager (RAM), and the Consulting Medical Director (CMD).This includes administrative clinic operations, providing patient intake and care, assisting with special requests from client, COVID-19 testing, and inventory management as well as assisting with other occupational and environmental health services, as needed to support medical and safety efforts at a large scale construction site located in Boise, ID. This project is anticipated to last multiple years with exact timing to be determined by clint requirements.Responsibilities:
- Provide best in class customer service to client’s employees, management, and vendor partners
- Maintaining confidentiality by following HIPAA requirements
- Following Site Safety guidelines, policies and procedures for self, visitors, and employees
- Complying with governmental regulations and WorkCare policies regarding health and safety
- Assist with patient intake forms and information
- Conduct occupational medical surveillance testing such as audiometric testing, vision testing, firefighter exams, PIV exams, and respirator evaluations.
- Conduct breath alcohol screening and urine drug screening
- Administer first-aid and supervised medical treatment within scope of practice as directed by nurse
- Assist Registered Nurse with emergency response
- Provide concierge standby services such as First Aid/AED
- Performs clinic front-office and other administrative work including creating and formatting documents
- Stocking rooms and assisting with room turn over and cleaning post patient care
- Assist with ordering and maintaining medical & office supplies, including supply levels and expiration dates
- Assist with AED management such as maintenance checks and shipping
- Assist with special requests from client EHS members
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent acceptable with at least 2 years of directly applicable experience.
- Knowledge and skills equivalent to those acquired through an accredited Medical Assistant education program, including basic knowledge of medical terminology and reporting, to perform office and clinical duties.
- Certification through accredited Medical Assistant education program or EMT education program.
- Must be a Certified Medical Assistant.
- Certification or ability and willingness to become certified to perform supportive medical services (e.g., administer medication, audiogram, spirometry; apply and remove bandages; apply orthopedic devices; select, adjust and instruct re crutch or cane use, remove sutures, perform ear lavage, collect lab specimens, etc.)
- Certifications required: BLS.
- Must hold valid drivers license.
- One to three years of experience in the healthcare field or in a related area.
- Occupational health experience preferred.
- Certification in phlebotomy preferred.
- Willingness and ability to obtain HIPAA certification upon hire.

Computer Skills
- Must be competent in the Windows operating system environment, Adobe Professional, Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Acrobat, and PowerPoint) and learn other software as needed.
Physical Demands
- Requires sitting for periods of time, working at a desk.
- Some bending and stretching could be required.
- Working under stress and use of computer/phone required.
- Manual dexterity required for use of computer keyboard.
- Occasionally may be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel and/or crouch.
- Requires lifting a jump bag.
- Requires moving or shipping supplies and possibly lifting up to 15lbs.
Work Environment:
- Construction project location.
- Clinic is located within the protected/regulated area.
- Clinic: Mainly indoor, office/clinic conditions; noise level is usually moderate; air quality is good, and temperature is controlled.
