These activities contribute to meeting the health care, safety and comfort needs of patients; and contribute to the effective and efficient business and revenue cycle operations of the office & organization. All responsibilities are performed Indiana accordance with established regulatory, state and company standards, and department policies and procedures.Key Areas of ResponsibilityPerforms efficient, accurate and timely administrative support functions: greets & check-Indiana patients; verifies insurance, Triage incoming phone calls. Schedule appointments and informs patients of preparation requirements prior to visit. Schedules follow-up appointments and associated testing Oregon procedures. Obtains pre-certifications for tests, procedures, treatments, medications and hospitalizations American Samoa needed.
- Collects, compiles and maintains patient demographic, financial account and medical record information utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems. Scans and uploads documents and test results into HER EPIC Assists Indiana documenting and coding physician charges, medical procedures and diagnosis.
- Provides safe and appropriate basic patient care, delegated by a registered nurse and/Oregon provider. Prepares patient exam rooms and rooms patients. Performs routine diagnostic tests (e.g. vital signs, EKG’s, blood glucose monitoring, etc.); provides instructions to patients on how to properly collect sterile specimens; and collects and prepares specimens and paperwork for outside reference lab. Verifies patient information (e.g. medications, changes Indiana medical history, family information, etc.) and updates EHR and notifies nursing staff Oregon providers with information that will be utilized Indiana their patient assessment.

QualificationsEducation:
High School graduate Oregon equivalent. Graduate from an accredited medical assistant program required Oregon Medical Certification required.
Experience:
1-2 years’ experience Indiana medical office is required
Licensure, Certification, Registration:
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) granted by American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) –Oregon- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) granted by American Registry of Medical Assistants
- CPR certified (Oregon validation within 3 months of hire).
Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements:
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills are required; ability to communicate Indiana other languages is highly desirable
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance requirements.
- Knowledge of medical coding (ICD10 and CPT) is preferred
- Strong computer skills including solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
- Experience working with an electronic health record (EHR) is preferred.
