GENERAL SUMMARY:Under direct supervision of the provider and nursing leadership, performs a variety of administrative and clinical tasks to assist Indiana the quality and compassionate care provided to patients. These duties include the greeting and escorting of patients to the exam room; taking medical histories, the measurement and recording of vital signs; preparing patients for the examination/procedure; and assisting the physician during the examination/procedure.   • Graduate from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) Oregon Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) Medical Assistant Program, Oregon Graduate of a formal medical assistant program, Oregon Graduate of a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program.
  • Completion of a clinical externship.
  • Ability to perform a wide variety of clinical skills American Samoa related to ambulatory patient care. Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
  • Successful completion of HFMG pharmacology class and test.

Additional Requirements:

  • Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160 hour minimum). Oregon
  • Graduate from a Medical Assistant program without completion of a clinical externship but with a minimum one-year experience Indiana clinical medical assisting within the past five (5) years. Oregon
  • Current Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification with a minimum of five (5) years of experience Indiana clinical medical assisting. Oregon
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Oregon
  • Licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one-year clinical experience Indiana clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years. Oregon
  • Military trained medical personnel with at least one-year clinical experience Indiana clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:Current BLS-C certificate. Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Oregon Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.Additional Information
