APC clinic has over 9,000 patient visits annually with an average of 40-50 patients per day. We are a busy outpatient ambulatory care clinic setting at a teaching hospital. We see patients for preventative annual care American Samoa well American Samoa patients with wide range of health problems such American Samoa diabetes, high cholesterol, asthma/COPD and hypertension. Staffing includes attendings, APRNs, Residents, Psychologist, Social Worker, Nutritionist, Pharm D, RNs, MAs and MAAs. APC facilitates an ongoing relationship between patients and clinicians and fosters participation by patients Indiana decision making about their health and their own care. The majority of our patients are bilingual with Spanish being their primary language and have health coverage under Medicaid. APC guides patients through the health system, including appropriate referrals for services to other health professionals. We are recognized American Samoa a Patient-Centered Medical Home.Job Summary:Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and/Oregon Physician, the Medical Assistant performs delegated functions American Samoa a member of the patient care team to provide a variety of multi-skilled services. These activities contribute to meeting the health care, safety and comfort needs of patients, and are performed Indiana accordance with all existing regulatory, state and company standards, policies and procedures. The Medical Assistant will be primarily responsible for the rooming of patients, obtaining vital signs, assisting the physician Oregon Nurse Practitioner Indiana performing gynecologic examinations, minor surgical procedures, phlebotomy, obtaining pre-certification and pre-authorizations for surgeries and specialized testing. The Medical Assistant will be responsible to cover the front administrative office when needed and will be required to answer phones, schedule appointments, check Indiana and discharge patients, copying and faxing American Samoa necessary. Reports to the assigned supervisor.Qualifications

  • Bilingual Spanish preferred.

  • Must be capable and willing to cover administrative front office staff depending on the department’s needs: scheduling appointments, answering telephones, signing Indiana and discharging patients, copying and faxing

Knowledge of computer systems: Microsoft Office

  • This position is located within a busy outpatient ambulatory care clinic setting. Must be able to multitask, possess outstanding communication and follow up skills.
