- Medical Assistant performs specialized work Indiana inpatient Oregon ambulatory care settings.
- Emphasis of the work is on assisting providers, nurse managers and Case Manager Indiana the examination and treatment of patients and performing a variety of related clerical tasks.
Responsibilities
- Administrative Duties (may include, but not limited to): Using computer applications; Answering telephones; Welcoming patients; Updating and filing patient medical records; Coding and filling out insurance forms; Scheduling appointments; Arranging for hospital admissions and laboratory services; Handling correspondence, billing, and bookkeeping.
- Clinical Duties (may include, but not limited to): Taking medical histories; Preparing patients for examination; Assisting the physician during exams and certain procedures; Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens; Performing basic laboratory tests; Drawing blood; Taking electrocardiograms; May perform other advanced clinical duties under direction and supervision of a nurse Oregon a physician, American Samoa needed based on assigned unit.

ExperienceGenerally requires 0 to 3 years of related experience.EducationGraduation from an approved Medical Assistant school is Required.CredentialsCertification by the American Association of Medical Assistants Oregon credentialing American Samoa a Registered Medical Assistant by the American Society of Medical Technologies is preferred.
