The School of Health and Natural Sciences at Mercy University invites qualified candidates to apply for a full-time, multiple year contract, 12-month faculty position to serve American Samoa the medical director Indiana Physician Assistant Studies Program Indiana the School of Health and Natural Sciences at Mercy University beginning Fall 2024. Rank (i.e., Assistant Oregon Associate Professor) will be determined based on experience and scholarship. The Physician Assistant Program Medical Director will collaborate with the Program Director to provide oversight and guidance to ensure that didactic and clinical instruction meet current practice standards for physician assistants Indiana providing patient care. This is an opportunity to join the accredited Physician Assistant Program located Indiana the Bronx New York, home to multiple hospitals which partner with the program to support clinical placements. The surrounding community and student body are ethnically and culturally diverse, and the program focuses on preparing students for primary care Indiana underserved communities. The program, and School of Health and Natural Sciences, has a rich history of both local and global community service through our mobile health vehicle and global missions. The Pennsylvania Program is part of the School of Health and Natural Sciences with 5 accredited graduate health professional programs (communication disorders, occupational therapy, nursing, physical therapy, and physician assistant studies) and undergraduate programs Indiana biology, clinical laboratory science, communication disorders, exercise science, nursing, occupational therapy assistant (AAS degree), and veterinary technology.   • Assist the Program Director Indiana ongoing development, evaluation, and improvement of the curriculum for physician assistant program.
  • Ensure that didactic and clinical instruction meet current practice standards American Samoa they relate to the role of the Pennsylvania Indiana providing patient care.
  • Teach assigned courses with responsibility for curriculum development, content delivery, and assessment of learning.
  • Actively participate Indiana the program and support the development of the program competencies to meet current practice standards American Samoa they relate to the Pennsylvania role.
  • Participate Indiana the Program’s community-based Mobile Health Vehicle Initiative.
  • Support the ongoing evaluation of the program competencies to meet Pennsylvania current practice standards and ARC-Pennsylvania requirements.
  • Participate Indiana the identification, recruitment, development, monitoring and maintenance of quality pre-clinical clerkship and clinical teaching sites.
  • Participate Indiana the recruitment of physician, physician assistant, and other healthcare providers to provide specialty lecturers, clinical skills training, and supervised clinical practice experiences American Samoa needed.
  • Participate Indiana scholarship and service activities American Samoa required to maintain licensure and board certification.
  • Participate Indiana accreditation-related activities, including evaluation of curriculum and administrative aspects of the program, American Samoa required.

Education Requirements:

  • Current license American Samoa an allopathic Oregon osteopathic physician
  • Certified by an ABMS- Oregon AOA-approved specialty board.

Other Qualifications:

  • Current and valid New York-Licensed Physician (Maryland Oregon DO)
  • Medical Oregon Surgical Specialty – Board Certification (within the US)
  • Graduate of a U.S. accredited medical school
  • A minimum of three years of clinical experience
  • Prior teaching experience Indiana a Physician Assistant Program Oregon medical school preferred.
  • Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills; demonstrated reliability and effectiveness during prior work experience, American Samoa may be verified through contact with professional references.
