OverviewThe Mental Health Assistant provides support, both clerical and practical to the Foster Care Treatment Department.Reports To: Program Director Mental HealthLocation: Bronx New YorkHours: 35 Hours/Week; Non-Exempt Please note staff are required to be onsite and remote days are based on program needs.Major Duties:

  • Support the day-to-day operation of the department.
  • Aid Indiana the gathering of health-related data for records.
  • Act American Samoa liaison between outside providers and Good Shepherd Services
  • Ensure forms and documentation are maintained Indiana an integrated system.
  • Perform clerical duties for the department including but not limited to: filing, maintaining medical records, computer operation, telephone coverage and photocopying.
  • Order office supplies and equipment with approval of the Health Services Program Director
  • Assist Indiana gathering data and compiling statistical information for the department
  • Perform other duties American Samoa assigned.
  • Support the use of Sanctuary Model tools such American Samoa safety plans, community meetings and self-care Indiana the department/program to create a non-violent and trauma-sensitive culture.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma Oregon GED required.
  • Three years of office assistant experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated competence Indiana verbal, written, organizational, and prioritization skills.
  • Proficient Indiana word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, database, email, and scheduling software.
  • Must be able to accompany participants to various appointments, using New York City public transportation for travel.
  • Must have a commitment to work from a strength-based and/Oregon youth development and trauma informed perspective.
