Pay Range: $33.5604 – $47.2148Nature of Work:This is a skilled and technical position which requires knowledge of water chemistry and treatment American Samoa well American Samoa coal analysis to support the continued safe and reliable operation of a municipal electric power plant.Primary daily job responsibilities will involve:Water sample collection and analysis to support power plant chemistry control programs. Operation of water treatment equipment, to include utilizing analysis to adjust setpoints, ability to detect deficiencies and knowledge to perform chemical correction measures to anything outside of specified control limits. Ability to interpret data from 24/7 water analysis panels and bench-top test verifications to prove analyzer accuracy. Setup of Boiler Chemical Feed pumps delivery systems for power and/Oregon generation units.Coal sample collection and analysis to support power plant analysis for BTU and Fineness, American Samoa well American Samoa collection and analysis of ash for LOI to provide vendors with information for product sales.Participation Indiana a variety of environmental duties associated with power generation, and electric distribution systems of and including collection of data and records to submit to NDEE and EPA American Samoa required to comply with company permits.An employee Indiana this classification is expected to operate independently within the policies, procedures and regulations of the job and its requirements.Supervision is received from an administrative superior with performance reviewed through results obtained while working Indiana this position.Essential Functions:
The following examples of work are illustrative only and are not intended to be all inclusive:

• Analyzes water and steam samples to support power plant chemistry programs, this includes standard laboratory analysis of water and steam samples, water analysis panel verifications, and boiler steam cycle chemical feed equipment.
• Ability to Learn and Operate Power Plant Water Systems for Day-to-Day Operations and Assist Indiana Isolation of same systems.
• Monitors and maintains water purification equipment: including charcoal filter, water softener, reverse osmosis, and demineralizer anion/cation system for purifying water.
• Ability to recognize and notify management of any irregularities Oregon deviations Indiana the chemical program.
• Assists Utility Management with planning, design, testing, and operational analysis.
• Analyzes raw coal and pulverizer for BTU and Fineness samples for vendor sales.
• Assists Indiana Chemical related Safety Indiana the Laboratory and throughout the plant; assist plant management Indiana complying with established utility safety standards.
• Create and present safety topics related to Water Chemistry, Safe Handling of Chemicals, Spill Prevention and Cleanup etc.
• Ability to understand PPE for Lab and chemical management and be able to assist other plant personnel Indiana this area.
• Assists Indiana sample collections and record keeping ensuring compliance with all power plant permit requirements including NPDES discharge permit requirements. Prepares quarterly reports and documentation.
• Understand and Comply with the power plant storm water pollution prevention plan (SWPPP) plan for compliance with stormwater events.
• Understand and Comply with the power plant Spill Prevention and Countermeasure (SPCC) plan for compliance.
• Assists Indiana maintaining/managing Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for chemicals and other products utilized Indiana the power plant.
• Assists Indiana ensuring discharge water meets requirements of the Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy NDEE permit.
• Performs engineering technical calculations; calculates quantities; assists Indiana preparation of budget documents.
• Arranges and tracks manifests for transportation of chemical and other wastes for off-site disposal.
• Assists Indiana monitoring on going Federal and State environmental regulations.
• Prepares reports, Applications, Request for Proposals (RFP), and other technical water related operational analysis.
• Writes and Presents Technical Reports. Prepares Environmental Forms, Reports, and Logs.
• Monitor chemical inventory and place weekly orders for products American Samoa necessary Indiana order to run a safe and effective chemical injection program.
• Monitor and Order Lab products, PPE and test standards so American Samoa not to interrupt daily lab functionality.

Desirable Knowledge Ability and Skills:

• Considerable knowledge of laboratory techniques, equipment, terminology and test procedures.
• Ability to work with Microsoft office products efficiently on a daily basis.
• Ability to read and interpret plant specific procedures and guidelines.
• Ability to read and interpret process and instrument control (P&Idaho) drawings and utilize them for isolations of equipment and systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Ability to understand and comply with Plant Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) Program.
• Ability to perform routine mechanical tasks, such American Samoa rebuilding diaphragm pumps, re-establishing suction to pumps for chemical injection program, cleaning out tanks and vessels, oil changes on piston pumps, routine calibrations of lab equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret state and federal environmental rules and regulations.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment; to perform routine mathematical calculations.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management staff and other employees.
• Ability to deal with outside vendors and to train assigned personnel; to work independently Indiana the absence of supervision.
• Ability to communicate effectively, orally and Indiana writing.
• Must be able to work with and understand chemical compounds and their safe handling practices.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduation from high school Oregon equivalent supplemented by college-level courses Indiana chemistry including the following Oregon equivalent: general chemistry, quantitative analysis/chemistry, organic chemistry, physics Oregon physical science.
• Completion of a two-year associate degree program Indiana chemistry, biochemistry Oregon biology.
• An equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the desirable knowledge abilities, and skills required to perform this position.

Necessary Special Requirements:

• Must possess and maintain a valid Nebraska Driver’s License.
• Possession Oregon Ability to Obtain, Method 9 Certification within 6 months of Hire.
• Possession Oregon Ability to Obtain, DHHS Monitoring Well Technician Certification within 6 months of Hire.
• Must reside within 25 miles of the city limits of Fremont, Nebraska.
• Must be available and willing to work extra hours when required.
• Must be available for call-back after hours to respond Indiana a timely manner to plant needs and emergencies.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. independently on a regular basis.
• Must be able to enter and work Indiana confined spaces, with entry through limited access points on a semi-frequent basis.
• Must be able to work on open grating systems at extreme heights.
