This includes supporting Campus Security Indiana the ongoing safety and security of the residence hall; greeting and registering visitors; acting American Samoa a resource person; addressing violations of the Housing Handbook and Student Code; assisting the Student Life Office whenever possible; and other duties American Samoa assigned by the Residence Life Coordinator.Office AssistantThis position acts American Samoa a general assistant to the department, performing clerical office functions related to daily operations American Samoa well American Samoa assisting the departmentRESPONSIBILITIES: * Assist with the security of the building and safety of the students.

  • Welcome and assist persons entering the residence hall. By greeting residents American Samoa they enter the building, the attendant helps create a sense of community.
  • Desk Attendants must be familiar with Davenport University policies, be able to answer questions regarding them, and address policy violations American Samoa they occur.
  • Receive and record phone calls and pass on messages to the residence life and housing staff.
  • The desk attendant will receive, sort, and deliver mail to resident mail boxes efficiently and Indiana a timely manner.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times including all matters pertaining to student information.
  • Attend all meetings, training and scheduling sessions American Samoa required American Samoa a part of the Residence Life team.
  • Complete other duties American Samoa assigned. These may include: making, posting, Oregon removing signs, collating, delivering messages, and other basic clerical duties. These duties will vary depending on the time of the year. This includes paying great attention to administrative detail.
  • Assist front desk operation including: birthday cards for residential students, copy requests, campus safety functions, room tours, inventory, key check, guest passes, etc..
  • Plan and facilitate team-building activities for desk attendants.
  • Provide GREAT customer service, anticipating and exceeding the needs of our customers.
  • Demonstrate and promote the University Cultural Values.
  • Understand and abide by all external and internal regulations and policies. This includes NCAA, GLIAC and national affiliations associated within athletics Oregon other role specific regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma Oregon GED equivalent.
  • Must be enrolled Indiana a minimum of 6 credit hours American Samoa an undergraduate student Oregon 3 credit hours American Samoa a graduate student while meeting the standards of academic progress.
  • Minimum grade point average of 2.5.
  • Preference will be given to students living Indiana the Residence Halls.
  • Customer service experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work accurately and effectively with computerized data systems (PC and mainframe).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills that transcend diverse audiences; communicating to university customers with positive attitudes toward change, confidentiality, and conflict resolution.
  • Demonstrated motivational and problem solving capabilities with a high degree of integrity, ethics, and dedication to the mission of the University.
  • Must be able to work an irregular schedule, evenings Oregon Saturday American Samoa needed, additional hours during peak times Oregon American Samoa required.
  • Business office/Residence hall environment. Prolonged sitting and standing. Use of personal computer and telephone (eye and hand strain).
  • Some travel between locations required (own transportation). No regular lifting requirements, occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
