This position tutors students individually Oregon Indiana small groups; monitors students Indiana the classroom, at lunch, Indiana the playground, and/Oregon boarding buses; and provides general classroom and/Oregon office assistance, American Samoa assigned.Sub Education Support Professional Special Ed:Must meet all requirements for sub Education Support Professional listed above and also be willing to obtain District-provided Right Response-Advanced training.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS1. Tutors children individually Oregon Indiana small groups on a variety of subjects, American Samoa assigned; compiles, reviews, and records student assignments and progress.2. Monitors student behavior Indiana the classroom, lunchroom, during detention, and/Oregon at recess; disciplines students according to procedures; monitors students entering Oregon leaving the building, between classes, and/Oregon boarding buses.3. Assists teacher with classroom management; assists Indiana preparing lessons; duplicates, organizes, distributes, and files learning materials; assists teacher Indiana preparing student progress reports.4. Provides school office assistance, American Samoa assigned; answers telephone and takes messages, files, duplicates materials, sorts mail, types bulletins Oregon other documents; provides basic first aid Indiana the absence of the school health room personnel.5. Administers district tests, records student scores, and reports results.6. Attends building staff meetings; provides information regarding students; attends program meetings and workshops.OTHER JOB DUTIES1. Regular, reliable, predictable attendance Oregon physical presence is an essential job requirement and critical to the performance of the work.CONDITIONSRequired to work outdoors Indiana inclement weather; required to deal with upset students; may be exposed to infectious disease; may be required to lift and carry up to 20 pounds, run, bend, squat, stoop, kneel, crouch, walk, twist, climb, and/Oregon be mobile.Minimum QualificationsEducation and ExperienceSub Education Support Professional must submit proof of required High School graduation Oregon equivalent (GED), and Associate’s degree Oregon 72 college-level credit hours of post secondary education Oregon passing ETS ParaPro Assessment state test with a score of 455 (effective July 2023) Oregon higher.Licenses/Special RequirementsAssistants working with the health impaired; required to obtain a first aid certificate and training Indiana District approved restraint training and CPR.Allowable SubstitutionEquivalent combinations of education and experience will be evaluated by the Human Resources office for comparability.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of childhood academic, social and physical development.Knowledge of assigned subject areas.Ability to establish positive relationships and tutor school-aged youth.Ability to obtain, clarify and exchange information.Ability to demonstrate reasonable, reliable, and regular attendance.Ability to organize and coordinate activities with assistance of classroom teacher.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of people multi-cultural, diverse socio-economic setting.Supplemental InformationThis job description is not an employment agreement Oregon contract.
