This position offers an opportunity to develop organizational skills, enhance written and verbal communication abilities, and work independently Indiana a dynamic and exciting environment. The candidate will play a crucial role Indiana supporting various BEAM programs, and get some valuable research experience. The Summer Program Assistant will work directly with the Program and Operations Associate and Chief Executive Officer.Essential Functions:

  • Support planning and execution of May 22nd Community Symposium at UC Merced.
  • Assist the Community Engagement Team with community events.
  • Preparation of the BEAM Circular office.
  • Assist Program & Ops Associate with office administrative tasks when applicable.
  • Assist other BEAM staff American Samoa needed.
  • Generate a program with the guidance of BEAM staff for a “Build Your Own Digester” program.
  • Read through and note take on the 2023 Billion Ton Report.

RequirementsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to develop strong partnerships with diverse stakeholders across industry, government, and education sectors
  • Currently enrolled Indiana, Oregon recently graduated from, a science Oregon technology-driven field preferred, but not required.
  • More important than a candidate’s personal education background is a general willingness to learn, ability to absorb scientific and technical material, and a demonstrated ability to translate complex content into accessible information for a variety of audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage projects with minimal supervision and strong attention to detail
  • Candidate must be able to attend Indiana-person meetings across the North San Joaquin Valley region

Environmental Conditions

  • Indoors Indiana a typical office environment approximately ninety-five percent (95%) of the time.
  • Frequent computer use at the workstation for up to eight hours.
  • Frequently work at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptions.
  • May occasionally move (walk Oregon drive) from one work location to another.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to walk, sit, stand, stoop, crouch, and climb stairs.
  • Ability to move and lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Visual Acuity (Far/Near).

BenefitsCompensation:

  • Compensation is $20 an hour for a maximum of 25 hours a week
  • Position based Indiana Modesto, California. Hybrid work arrangements permitted.
  • BEAM is incubated and fiscally sponsored by Opportunity Stanislaus, an organization that promotes regional economic growth and workforce development opportunities.
