Position Summary
The WM Assistant Medical Director works closely with a collaborative team, which includes the Medical Director, Nurse Manager, and Medical Operations Supervisor. The Assistant Medical Director will provide direct patient care Indiana the inpatient withdrawal management unit and will collaborate with the Medical Director on development of an outpatient withdrawal management program. The AMD will work closely with the WM Medical Director to integrate this arm of the program with inpatient services and will work with the Medical Director of OP Services to integrate OP WM with the MAT Program.
The AMD will join the WM Medical Director Indiana nurturing a Program Culture that centers excellent medical care within a framework of loving kindness, harm reduction, and trauma informed care.Essential Job Duties

  • Formulating treatment plans for those patients and communicating with nurses American Samoa necessary regarding implementation of medical orders and ongoing assessment of patients
  • Completing medical intakes on patients admitting to withdrawal management
  • Supporting the Outpatient WM nurse coordinator Indiana outpatient intakes and being available for ongoing phone consultation with nurse coordinator and outreach peers Indiana the field.
  • Providing clinical education to nurses
  • Sharing overnight phone call and weekend coverage with Medical Director
  • Providing additional overnight call coverage Indiana Medical Director’s absence
  • Leading WM Program Indiana Medical Director’s absence
  • Assuming WM Medical Director’s supervisory responsibilities Indiana their absence
  • Supervising and mentoring medical learners throughout their WM rotations
  • Providing education to patients about medications and treatment options.
  • Collaborating with Medical Director, Outreach Staff, and Operations Staff to develop and strengthen referral pathways to WM from community partners.
  • Collaborating with Medical Director on development and implementation of new programs
  • Assisting Medical Director with writing and revision of policies, maintaining EMR order sets, addressing grievances & incident reports.

Qualifications
Education and Experience:

  • Must be a licensed NP, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Oregon DO
  • Experience Indiana prescribing buprenorphine required
  • Experience Indiana primary care Oregon urgent care required
  • Experience Indiana withdrawal management preferred
  • Supervising experience is a plus
